I remember with very fond clarity the first time I experienced Spring Spa. It was in Bali at their Seminyak location opposite the W hotel and it truly was like stumbling across an oasis. It was fresh, clean, inviting and surreptitiously relaxing. When I arrived back in Auckland I visited their St Heliers location every now and then for a brief escape.

Having just launched their fourth and largest New Zealand location in my home of Ponsonby, I was invited to try a 60 minute Spring Signature Massage. From the moment I stepped inside I felt a sense of tranquility and calm wash over me (a very promising start).
Designed by Hannah Warren, the fit out its effortlessly stunning, clean and modern. It features bamboo ceilings in the treatment rooms, bleached hardwood floors throughout and Indonesian-style statement pieces punctuating the otherwise minimalist look and feel, a respectful nod to its Balinese roots.
I opted for a firm pressure massage and the pressure was perfect right the way throughout the treatment, and the scalp massage at the end (my favourite part) honestly has to be one of the best I’ve ever had.
With 8 treatment rooms, a dedicated manicure and pedicure space and a custom designed spray tan area, Spring is set to be a welcome retreat in the bustling heart of Ponsonby.
