How lucky have we been with this weather! It's been another busy month but an exciting one as (if you follow me on instagram you would have seen) I got to dress up for the annual drag competition for which this year the theme was Pop Stars. I went as Ariana Grande and managed to take out first prize (dangerous woman). At the studio, school ball season is in full swing and I've been working on a few exciting photo shoots so keep an eye out for that soon. Let's get into my top five favourites for the month of May.
Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum
As a lover of multitasking, the idea of sleeping while having my skin overhauled excites me. This is a powerful peptide serum with Argan and Rose oils to maximise cellular repair, minimise fine lines and increase skin luminosity, all while you sleep. A serum is a great way to boost your skin care routine as it delivers a faster more potent penetration of active ingredients. Just a couple drops pressed into skin or mixed into your regular night cream will see you right.
Smashbox Lipstick in Audition
Everyone I’ve use this colour on raves about it immediately. It’s a nice neutral rose tone that suits just about anyone (sort of like a Brigitte Bardot pink). It’s a cream texture so goes on silky smooth and makes lips look fuller and plumper. Want it matte? Press a dot of Smashbox Instamatte over the top to transform it into a velvety matte version.
Eyes of Horus Eye Pencil in Smokey Black
This is one of the blackest eye pencils I’ve ever seen. It has fantastic pigment and is super creamy which means it’s easy to blend. I use it as a base to intensify eyeshadows, or in the waterlines to intensify a look. Bronze and Nubian Brown also have a permanent place in my makeup kit but if you're into colour, check out the Lazure Blue.
Naturigin Hair conditioner
A hair conditioner with pure silk! The hydrolysed silk proteins in this conditioner restore hair strength and elasticity, while repairing damage and increasing that all important shine to the hair. Can be used daily or additionally as a 30 min intensive mask; just apply to damp hair, wrap in a hot towel and let it go to work for 30 mins. Cruelty free and contains no parabens, artificial colours or fragrances.
Bobbi Brown Cream Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Shadow
Lusting after the perfect cool toned smokey eye for winter? Blend this over the entire eye lid and buff out with a brush for a simple smokey that will last all night long. For a more dramatic effect, blend a bit of black shadow into the outer corners and along the lash lines.
